The DCMR contributes to reducing the environmental burden and increasing the environmental quality and safety in the Rijnmond area. A service that is more than necessary in the densely populated Rijnmond area given the jumble of activity on the small piece of earth.
But the DCMR, especially for young people, is not entirely “visible. And it may also be unclear to this group of people exactly what the service does and how.
The exhibition at the EIC, therefore, offers the ideal combination of ‘fact’ and ‘fun’: in the right setting (the port of Rotterdam and its densely populated surroundings) schoolchildren are made aware of the ins and outs of our port area in an interactive and exciting way.
The DCMR Experience is a phygital game played by one visitor at a time. It brings the work of the DCMR into focus in a thought-provoking and interactive way. After playing the game, the visitor has a good impression of what the environmental department does, why and how.
To complete the experience, the game takes place in a model of a spectacular DCMR bus. The flashing lights on the roof add to the experience.

De DCMR draagt bij aan het verminderen van de belasting van het milieu en het verhogen van de milieukwaliteit en veiligheid in het Rijnmondgebied. Een dienst die meer dan noodzakelijk is in het dichtbevolkte Rijnmondgebied, gezien de wirwar van activiteiten op dit kleine stukje aarde.
Maar de DCMR is, vooral voor jongeren, niet helemaal “zichtbaar”. En het is voor deze groep mensen wellicht ook onduidelijk wat de dienst precies doet en hoe.
De tentoonstelling bij het EIC biedt daarom de ideale combinatie van ‘feit’ en ‘plezier’: in de juiste omgeving (de haven van Rotterdam en zijn dichtbevolkte omgeving) worden scholieren op een interactieve en spannende manier bewust gemaakt van de ins en outs van ons havengebied.
De DCMR Experience is een phygitaal spel dat door één bezoeker tegelijk wordt gespeeld. Het brengt het werk van de DCMR op een prikkelende en interactieve manier onder de aandacht. Na het spelen van het spel heeft de bezoeker een goede indruk van wat de milieudienst doet, waarom en hoe.
Om de ervaring compleet te maken, vindt het spel plaats in een model van een spectaculaire DCMR-bus. De knipperende lichten op het dak versterken de ervaring.
